About the brewer

Hey there, I’m Grant Wright. I started this homebrewing blog at barkingdogbeer.wordpress.com back in 2010 as a way to document my efforts as I first ventured into homebrewing, having transitioned the content over to barkingdogbrewery.com (here!) in the fall of 2012 so I could have more control over the site. I’ve been working in digital marketing since 2005 and have utilized much of my professional expertise in the creation and optimization of my blog content, which may be the reason you found me. If I had to pick a favorite style of beer, I’d have to pick at least two. I find saison the most flavorful and refreshing during warmer months and scotch ale is my winter warmer of choice. I also started venturing into sours in 2012, as I like how complex in flavor they are and all the time and effort necessary to produce them.

In my professional life, I currently lead a team of front-end web developers who utilize CSS(3), HTML(5), responsive design methodologies, Javascript and jQuery to create marketing solutions for law firms across the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Non-professionally speaking, I am Director of Communications for the Nordeast Brewers Alliance, which has been a great way to meet fellow brewers, share ideas, troubleshoot brewing issues and has kept me in touch with the local craft beer scene. Besides homebrewing, I have varying interests which include facets of digital marketing such as content strategy, user experience, responsive design, social strategy, search optimization and performance analytics. Check out my résumé site, grantpwright.com to learn more about me.

Enjoy the blog!

    • Hey Dustin – no I do not. As much as I love homebrewing, I’m actually more interested in the marketing side of the business. Why do you ask?
