Hop crop yields, 2011
*UPDATE 11/4/11 – added yields from 10/16 and 10/30, the latter of which was the date I took the bines down and just dumped whatever I could pull off them into the bucket. Let’s call it a “proprietary blend.”

Just did the math on exactly how many ounces (dried) of hops my five plants yielded this, their first season. For historical record purposes… here’s what I’ve got as of 10/2/11:

Wait… what happened to Chinook?? Honestly, it focused so much on growing in length, it didn’t get around to creating any cones until mid/late-August and by then it was too late. I got a handful of cones but just mixed them into the 9/30/11 and 10/1/11 Cascade and Centennial yields with little to no effect, I’m sure. Chinook did have a very distinct, strong scent. It’ll be interesting to have those around next fall.
Total first year yield so far comes in at 16.375 oz. (dried) from five plants. I’m very happy with that and excited for next year! Now I have to do some research on cutting rhizomes for some of my friends whom I’ve got interested in starting their own hop farms in 2012.
